On November 20, 2014, Mr. Takashi Ajimura, Representative Director of Japan and International Motion Picture Association. (JIMCA), delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Economics, Konan University.

As part of the curriculum of ‘Network Economics 2’ drawn up by Associate Professor Kenta Hayashi, the lecture themed “Content Business – Movie and Animation Industries” covered several topics including “Production Committee, Copyright, and Proceeds of Distribution of Movies”, “The Patterns of Secondary Use of Movies” and “Movie Copyright Infringements and Measures”.
Approximately 120 third-year or above students from the university’s Faculty of Economics attended the lecture.

Attendees asked many questions regarding the relationship between declining sales of packaged software and the expansion of the online distribution market after the lecture.

With regard to the lecture, Associate Professor Kenta Hayashi said, “We were able to have a very significant lecture. The content of the lecture coincided with our university policy which is to allow students to directly interact and learn from experts in their field. In particular, the lecture provided easy-to-understand explanations regarding not only the relationship between content digitization and copyright but also windowing strategy and production committee, allowing students to have a better understanding of the industry.”
