TOHOシネマズ(株)本社にて映画盗撮防止セミナーを開催 July.04.2014

On July 3, 2014, a “Movie Camcording Prevention Seminar” was held at the head office of TOHO Cinemas Ltd. in Chiyoda-Ward, Tokyo, for movie theater managers of TOHO Cinemas Ltd. in the national capital region.

TOHO Cinemas Ltd. is an affiliated company of Toho Co., Ltd., which topped its Japanese box office movie revenues in 2013, and is one of the most influential cinema complex chains in Japan.

Conducted as part of TOHO Cinemas’ regional managers meeting, the seminar was attended by a full compliment of TOHO movie theater managers.
A JIMCA representative explained the latest contact status of the Piracy Hotline from “Let’s Go to the Cinema!” Committee’s Anti Illegal Activity Management Office, and gave tips on how to handle special cases.
The application “MAKE A DIFFERENCE 4 (MAD4)” distributed across the Asia-Pacific Region by the MPA was also introduced at the seminars and used as training material. Since the MAD4 application is not only compatible with iOS and Android smart phones and tablets but also includes a multi-lingual interactive web application corresponding to Japanese, cinema staff can easily report illegal recording activities using various handheld devices.

The anti-camcording seminar has been held previously in Tohoku and Kanto regions, and will next be held in the Chubu and Kinki regions.
For any queries or requests regarding the Movie Camcording Prevention Seminar, please feel free to contact JIMCA. To find out more about MAD4, please visit: www.mad4.org.
