IP & SMEs:Taking your ideas to market

World Intellectual Property Day is observed annually and was established in 2000 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, to raise awareness of how intellectual property impact our daily life and to celebrate contribution to the society made by creators and innovators, aiming to protect and promote intellectual property rights worldwide.
Events fo enlighten the importance of intellectual property are held worldwide every year. On this year’s World Intellectual Property Day, WIPO has set the theme “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”.

Motion Picture Association (MPA) and Japan and International Motion Copyright Association (JIMCA) are conducting MPA DIGITAL CAMPAIGN in commemoration of this year’s World Intellectual Property Day. We would like you to take this opportunity to ponder the link between intellectual property and copyright, and the roll of copyright in our daily life by proposing normal cycle of value chain in the film industry.

In commemoration of World Intellectual Property Day 2021, JIMCA has received messages from the following persons in regard to this year’s theme “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”. Mr. Steve Lang, Minister-Counsel for Economic and Scientific Affairs, supervising intellectual property field at US Embassy Tokyo, Dr. Jinichi Yamaguchi, a leading expert in mechanical engineering of bipedal and humanoid robots, Mr. Hiroyuki Nomura, President at IPI Co., LTD, who created.
